First: Introduction
As part of the Human Network’s efforts to enhance the skills of educational staff in the field of mental health and social support within schools, a training session titled "Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)" was held at the Titanic Hotel on September 17, 2025. The session included the participation of 22 teachers from various schools in the region.
This activity is part of the network’s program aimed at promoting psychological well-being in the school environment and equipping teachers with effective strategies for implementing emotional and social education.
Second: Training Objectives
- Introducing participants to the concept of social and emotional learning and its five core dimensions.
- Empowering teachers to implement classroom activities that enhance self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness.
- Building teachers’ skills to foster positive relationships between students and teachers.
- Developing participants’ abilities to create a supportive classroom environment for psychological well-being.
Third: Training Topics
The training included several interactive sessions, including:
First Session: Introduction to the concept and importance of social and emotional learning in the school environment.
Second Session: Explanation of the five dimensions of SEL (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making).
Third Session: Practical activities and group exercises for teachers to integrate SEL principles into classrooms.
Fourth Session: Discussion of participants’ experiences and challenges in applying the acquired skills in their schools.
Fourth: Training Methodology
Interactive training methods were adopted, which included:
- Presentations.
- Small group workshops.
- Practical exercises and self-assessment activities.
- Experience sharing among teachers.
Fifth: Training Evaluation
Participants’ evaluations showed a high level of satisfaction with the training content and delivery. Most participants confirmed that the sessions were beneficial, inspiring, and contributed to their understanding of social and emotional learning, as well as its potential application in their schools.
Sixth: Recommendations
- Continue organizing similar training sessions for extended periods and at advanced levels.
- Establish a network of teachers practicing social and emotional learning to exchange experiences.
- Integrate SEL components into local education plans.
- Follow up on the application of acquired concepts through field visits or subsequent supervision sessions.

This training represents an important step in the Human Network’s efforts to promote mental health and well-being in schools. It contributed to raising teachers’ awareness of the importance of emotional and social skills in creating a positive and inclusive educational environment.
