Roundtable  on Addressing Health Issues in the Raparin Independent Administration

Introduction:
Under the patronage of the Deputy Supervisor of the Raparin Administration, and with the participation of the Directors General of the Health and Education Departments, the Director of the Department of Migration, Displacement, and Crisis Response in the administration, as well as the Medical Association, the Women’s Union, the Retirees’ Union, Raparin University, in addition to several other officials and relevant civil society organizations, the Human Network for Health and Humanitarian Work organized a roundtable to discuss health issues in the governorate and explore ways of cooperation to address them.
Objectives of the Roundtable:
1-To examine the health problems and issues facing citizens in the administration.
2-To strengthen joint coordination between official entities and civil society in addressing these issues.
3-To establish mechanisms for cooperation in tackling both emergency and chronic health crises.
4-To form a community committee to follow up on the implementation of recommendations and health initiatives.
Key Discussion Points:
* Review of the current health situation in the governorate, including health facilities, medical centers, and the services provided.
* Challenges facing the health sector, including shortages of staff, delays in equipment provision, and limited preventive programs.
* Ways to enhance health awareness in the community, particularly regarding school health, women’s health, and elderly health.
* The importance of coordination between the Departments of Health, Education, Migration, local authorities, and civil society organizations to ensure a rapid and effective response to health crises.
* Mechanisms for establishing a community committee that includes representatives from official entities and civil society to ensure ongoing follow-up and periodic evaluation of public health initiatives.
Recommendations and Outcomes:
1-Establishment of a community committee for follow-up and coordination including all relevant stakeholders.
2-Development of joint plans to address both emergency and chronic health issues.
3-Strengthening of community awareness and health education programs in schools and community centers.
4-Organization of training workshops for health staff and civil society on crisis response.
5-Documentation of all efforts and initiatives to ensure transparency and sustainability of solutions.
Conclusion:
During the roundtable, the Human Network for Health and Humanitarian Work emphasized the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure better health for citizens in the administration and to improve coordination between official bodies and civil society. The Network also stressed the role of the community committee in following up on the implementation of recommendations and in creating sustainable solutions to public health challenges in the Administration
