Introduction:
As part of the World Breastfeeding Week activities, the Human Network, in cooperation with the Directorate of Health Prevention in Sulaymaniyah, organized an awareness event at the Maternity Hospital in Sulaymaniyah City. The aim was to promote awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and its health benefits for both mothers and children.
Activity Details:
The event included an awareness seminar attended by several mothers, medical staff, and visitors. A comprehensive educational lecture was delivered covering:
The nutritional and health benefits of breast milk.
The importance of breastfeeding in strengthening the child’s immunity and supporting physical and mental development.
The positive impact of breastfeeding on the mother’s health and its role in reducing the risk of certain diseases.
The importance of community awareness and supporting women to initiate and continue breastfeeding.
Activity Objectives:
To promote the culture of breastfeeding and encourage mothers to adopt it.
To correct misconceptions related to breastfeeding.
To emphasize the necessity of healthcare institutions supporting breastfeeding mothers.
Results and Feedback:
The seminar received great interaction from attendees. Mothers expressed wide interest and asked numerous questions regarding proper breastfeeding practices. Many participants expressed their desire for more similar awareness activities in the future.
Conclusion:
The Human Network and the Directorate of Health Prevention in Sulaymaniyah reaffirm the importance of continuing awareness activities aimed at supporting the health of mothers and children and promoting healthy practices within the community.
