As part of ongoing community efforts to improve the health situation in the Garmiyan Administration, the Human Network for Health and Humanitarian Work, in collaboration with the Garmiyan General Directorate of Health, organized an expanded meeting on July 14, 2025, at the Public Library Hall in Garmiyan. The event saw active participation from doctors, healthcare staff, as well as representatives of civil society organizations and vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities.
The meeting focused on addressing the deteriorating health situation in the region, particularly in Kifri Hospital, Kalar Hospital, and various primary healthcare centers across Garmiyan. Participants highlighted the key challenges facing the health sector, including:
Shortage of medical and nursing staff
Lack of essential equipment and supplies
Poor infrastructure
Insufficient services for vulnerable and marginalized populations
The meeting also featured constructive discussions and the presentation of a range of proposals and recommendations aimed at:
Improving the quality of healthcare services
Providing necessary support and supplies to medical institutions
Enhancing coordination between official bodies and civil society organizations
Strengthening community oversight to ensure transparency and better performance in the health sector
Participants expressed strong and positive engagement throughout the meeting and emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives as a platform for sharing perspectives and developing practical solutions that prioritize the needs of the people.
