As part of its ongoing efforts to combat Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and raise public awareness, the Human Network, in collaboration with the Directorate of Preventive Health in Sulaymaniyah, launched a large-scale prevention campaign targeting the city of Sulaymaniyah and several key locations within it.
The campaign involved distributing educational leaflets, posting informative posters in public spaces, and conducting field visits to butcher shops, restaurants, and fast-food outlets. These activities aimed to raise awareness about CCHF prevention methods, promote healthy practices, and ensure that animal slaughter is confined to official slaughterhouses. This is especially important with the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday, during which large numbers of livestock are traditionally sacrificed as part of Islamic rituals.
The Human Network emphasized the importance of joint efforts by all relevant stakeholders—including health institutions, veterinary departments, civil society organizations, and citizens—to curb the spread of the disease and safeguard public health during this critical period.
